International bank cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc., excluding UnionPay.

Go to the Billing Settings page on GitHub and set up your payment method.
In "Payment method," please select "Credit card."
After entering your card number, expiration date, and CVV, click "Save payment information."

Note: Some bank cards may require purchasing foreign currency in advance.

Unfortunately, GitHub no longer supports PayPal, so you cannot sponsor through UnionPay. 😞

If you only have a UnionPay card, please use Stripe for sponsorship.

How to apply for an international bank card?

If you don't have an international bank card, you can apply for a new Bank of China MasterCard debit card.

Applicant must be at least 16 years old.
Applicant must hold a UnionPay debit card issued by Bank of China and belong to Class I account.

Go to a Bank of China branch and open a UnionPay debit card. (Skip this step if you already have one)
- Generally, you need to prepare your ID card, work/student ID, proof of residence, and your own mobile phone number.
- If the bank branch refuses to issue a Class I card, insist on stating that you need it for overseas travel or foreign exchange purposes.

Sponsorship through Stripe#
